We delivered the full plumbing and hot water package across three new build homes at Blossom Close, Luton, including first and second fix pipework, complete bathroom and en-suite suites, and new unvented cylinders. Each property was also fitted with its own domestic air source heat pump (ASHP), providing space heating and hot water from a single low-carbon system.
The main challenge was space. Heat pump installations require more kit than a traditional gas system — cylinder, expansion vessels, controls and additional valves — and the plant cupboards on site were compact, with every millimetre of pipework taking storage away from the tenants. We planned the layout before running a single pipe, choosing a slimline cylinder, stacking components vertically and grouping valves into one accessible service zone. The result is a neat, fully serviceable installation that leaves usable storage space behind.
